I have been thinking about changing my skin, it looks a bit flat in pictures now. I have seen quite a few photo-realistic skins that I think would be similar to my current look so I am excited about a change. But it is a hard decision to make, because I really adore my current skin. It is made by Pulse and comes with a set of makeups that are both neutral and dramatic. What makes this skin most unique to me is that is comes freckled. This skin is very similar to what I look like in my first life and I just love it. So I begin the quest to find a new skin that doesn't really change my look just upgrades me a bit. After wasting a couple of days looking at skins I gave up on the idea of changing my look.

Then later while working on my store at the SL Marketplace I ran into a makeup kit that comes in a tattoo layer. Since 2008 I have been fascinated with skin with makeups but have been limited in that the finding the right makeup with the right skin is not an easy task. Since I am darker skinned the lipsticks are usually so dark as well. Most skin designers do not realize that not all darker skinned girls like to wear plum lipstick we like red and pinks as well as the next girl. The kit is made by Ngel Vella and it is fantastic!!!

This makeup kit is a eye tattoo layer that lays over any pre-existing makeup you have to enhance your look. It comes with or without eyelashes which is really smart. No more waiting for your lashes to rez separately and no painstaking adjustments. Ngel also sells lipstick tattoos that are marvelous as well, the red lipstick I am wearing though is from my original skin and not apart of the makeup kit. I will add that the pricing for this kit is very very reasonable a definite must have for any fashionista. Thank you Ngel for giving new life to my old skin

Black and white have traditionally been the primary base fashion colors for all seasons. As we enter into the "twenty-ten" decade designers are re-interrepting this norm with the color gray.

I logged on to a bevy of "buzz" yesterday. "Vajazzled!!", "I just got Vajazzled, too!", "I'm vajazzled" were the comments I saw floating across my Plurk Timeline. I thought to myself what type of thing is "vajazzle" and how does one do it. Well, much to my delight I was directed to Adam n Eve Skins and Shapes.

I Got My LINDEN HOME!: Heaven on Earth, Virtually

When I first heard that the Lindens were offering an incentive for Premium members I was cautiously excited but very curious. I have been a premium member for over 3 years and had only kept my premium membership in the case that there is some problem with my account. As a premium member I get to speak to a live person on the phone rather then placing a trouble ticket. I live on Estate Land so the option of living on Linden Land is not as advantageous as having my estate land with Azure Islands.

So Angelo and I decided investigate into exactly what was a "Linden Home?" This is what we found; it is a new feature for premium account holders that gives account holders the chance to live in a themed Linden Public Works built community for little or no cost. There are convenant rules that you must abide and they are reasonably fair and are as follows:

•You will use 512 sqm of your available Land tier. (Your first 512 sqm of land are still FREE)
•Parcel sizes can't be changed.
•Terraforming is forbidden.
•Only one parcel per account.
•Buying or selling of land is prohibited.
•Zoned as non-commercial. No events or classified ads allowed.
•Houses are permanent.
•No commerce activity allowed.
•No sky boxes can be built.

Currently, there are four planned communities. You are free to choose the theme that best suits you.

MEADOWBROOK: Suburban theme with winding roads around hills in a natural surrounding. It has a very southern californian surburban feel to it.

TAHOE: Forest theme with winding roads around hills in rustic surroundings. I found this theme to be very summer campish. I could faintly smell the roasting marshmellows wafting in the air.

ELDERGLEN: Fantasy theme with winding roads around hills and giant trees. A beautiful place to bring out your inner muse. Everything there was just wholesomely sweet.

SHARETA OSUMAI: Traditional Japanese theme with homes nestled in picturesque areas with mossy rocks and colorful trees. The most beautifully rendered of all the communities very tranquil. A perfect place to get away reflect and mediate.

Upon the announcement of this feature in February 2010, Linden Labs was using a lottery system to assign homes to only a specific group of premium holders. I had doubts amd thought that I probably would not be selected even though I had fell in love with the Japanese themed community.

Well. last week into my email box I received a uneventful email from Linden Labs announcing that I should get my new home now! I thought well I should at least try even though I suspected the email was just a marketing ploy to further advertise the feature but nothing else. So, I followed all the prompts and made my selection and poof in one-click I was teleported to my NEW LINDEN HOME! I started right to the decorating...and here is my little piece of heaven on earth...virtually. Thank You Linden Labs!

Second Life's virtual landscape [The Grid] covers an area bigger than that of New York. New York has been the largest city in the US since 1790 and has a population exceeding 8 million all stuffed into a 332 square mile footprint. My Christmas so bright gotta wear Shades

My thoughts are filled with ideas perfect gift giving for my friends and family. My first stop was Essential Soul a great cornucopia of things. These shades literally caught my eye. The ES Sunglasses Metropolis Reflect Edition are very fashionable this year.

The framing flatters all face shapes and comfortable to wear. The sunset tinting on the glasses reflects good times in the upcoming year. So for a brighter future in 2010...you gotta wear these shades.

Flowey Dress! at SToRin

Annah Whitfield over at SToRin has a new release “Flowey Dress!” and it is adorable. Usually I think that color variations of a particular outfit are just overkill, but with this dress I completely fell in love with the fat-pack and each color combination. Each set called for a different occasion where they could be worn. I see the red/black as more for the evening and versatile cocktail dress...

the gray/purple is a ladies lunch set more dressy casual purposes ........

the blue/gold is strictly boardroom, the power dress for the lady who is in charge.

It is interesting to wear a mostly sculpt ensemble. The drape of the top fit me so well with just a minor adjustment due to my ample chest.
I like the details that the designer has made such as the skirt and the drape being completely modifiable. I am a big fan of the system skirt I like the tight slimness but this dress has me thinking that maybe a change is coming. I did make the skirt a little longer then the way it comes just on personal preference, but it can see being more flirty with the skirt as the parties abound leading up to New Year’s.

I was also pleasantly pleased to find a box included with the components to the dress on several different layers. The attention given this dress is so apparent. I am looking forward to what Annah comes up with in 2010.

Riverwalk: An Art Walk in a park.

Riverwak an open public area is a scenic cultural treasure that should not be missed. It is a combination clubhouse, art gallery and nature perserve. The entrance point , the Cliffhouse is the gamehouse with tables such as Backgammon, Mah Jong, Spades, SLoply, On-A-Roll and Settlers of SL and others. Down from the cliffhouse is a series of terraced decks that lead down to the docks where swan boats can be rented, which take on you a 20-minute narrated excursioin down the river. This is but the tip of the iceberg of what there is to see and do at Riverwalk.

The highlight for me is the "Art." Local artists are allowed to display between the trees in clearings and along the cobblestone walk their wares for free, with many available for purchase. If you are looking to spend some downtime in a lagg free but beautifully rendered sim. Go to Riverwalk, wander the footpaths and discover fantastic artistic works.

Creating A Look

Creating a look in Second Life® for some is intuitive but for others this is a daunting and difficult task. With all the choices available one could get lost in all of the possibilities, I for one am always looking for more realistic skin. I thought I would compile some tips to help other achieve their "personal look nirvana":

1. Do not forget the EYES.
Remember they are the windows to the soul, so play them up. When picking your skin color
consider how it will match to your eye color. Heavily lined eyes can be very dramatically beautiful
but can also come off harsh and smaller eyes really pop with great lashes.

2. TOO-BRIGHT Eyeshadow
When picking skin makeup variations stay away from way too bright and wild eye shadowing. There
are only very rare occasions were wild vivid colors does not look, garish, gaudy, and simply
unattractive. If you are looking for a dramatic look then take a chance but still use good judgment
and pick colors that are practical at the same time. Creamy soft colors are the optimal choices.

3. Eyebrow Errors
Every woman plight is to fight against bushy brows. Brows should frame your face. A slight arch
creates the space above the eye that makes the eyes POP. The coloring should match your haircolor
in a non-competing way.

4. Luscious Lips a DO
Creamy lips are so kissable. Only wear deep dark shades like brown if you are contouring and
contrasting. When wearing a dark color make sure that a lighter color is also used to
contour. Make note that you can never go wrong with a clear simple gloss.

5. STYLE your hair; don't let YOUR HAIR style you
Don't be predictable. I believe in the idea of picking a signature color and then buying many styles
in that color. Everyone should have an updo, a romantic hairstyle, a professional coif, a pony-tail
and a playful look. Shy away from changing hair colors dramatically from day to day. You lose your
personal identity if you are in constant change.

Yesterday, I was minding my own business relaxing in my home when I was alerted by my front door that a Brianna Beorn (rezzed 06/27/09) had attempted to open my front door. This happens all the time since I live on a public commerical sim, its the price I pay to do business. But, when then my back door also alerted me I thought here we go, another ill-mannered newbie. I peered out my window to see a poorly dressed waif of a woman lurking just outside my window. Then to my surprise that same woman magically appears onto my couch. I was so shocked, if I could see her surely she saw me as well. Here is what the crook had to say:

In Texas, you have the right to shoot and kill anyone who trepasses on your property, that is what the law deems as "defense of dwelling."

In the context of Second Life® a resident who gains access to another resident’s “land” without their permission, then by definition is a trespasser. There is however a distinction between intentionally trespassing and accidentally trespassing. Which brings me back to Ms. Brianna Beorn, who gained access to my home by moving through the door and hopping my backyard hedges to gain access to my back door. Upon looking at her profile I see that she is an escort (pfft). Which some people might conclude means that her morality gauge is set to low. But, what I found most hypocritical was the personal statement she makes in her ABOUT window. "For those idiots that say SL=SL and RL is RL, remember....Real persons in RL are typing.....Avatars are steered by humans who feel, fear, worry and love." And I will add "disrespect" upright land owners to her diatribe.

How dare her invade my home in a manner that so violated my personal security. She deserves more than just to be killed and banned, it is exactly there types of free loading no payment on file people who bring the quality of life in Second Life® down.

I am always looking for what is happening new in fashion and Mercury Johin operating in the Kalloni Mall has caught my attention with her new Silks Collection. This set Orchid's Blush is a definitely exotic ensemble with its delicate charmeuse silking and ornate clasps. It comes with two separate top stylings a full and a bra top. If I was a designer, how would I measure my success? There are many ways to approach this question. Would I measure it by how many Lindens I make? Or equate it by peer recognition and public fame? Better still would I just gauge it by my feeling of personal self satisfaction? I pondered this as I teleported to Leetah Moxie's fabulous hair boutique Curl Up & Dye Salon.

I have been shopping here since July 2007 and I was eager to see some more long hair styles. I love long hair and sometimes it is hard to find distinctly different styles but Leetah has kept me satisfied and the selection of hairstyles at the boutique are always exciting. The hairstyles range from vintage, theatrical to futuristic and they speak to your heart through your dreams. Most of the more dynamic styles enchance any pixel girl's beauty by capturing the moment and creating a particular mood. And the "mood du jour" is FANTASY. It is clear to see that Leetah does love fantasy and role play this is evident in the way she executes her popular looks, the care and attention that she gives them is evident. She herself takes time to play and is impressed by the Avallion sim and likes to relax there.

One look at "Marie Antoinette" and I am sent reeling back through time to the French Revolution an era where women towered their hair by using pads and pomade. Thoughts of luxury and French courts implore me to put on my most intricate corseted gown teleport over to Versailles and have sweet tea and delicate French cakes. The hair is intricately piled and dressed with three adorable lace ribbons in the back.

Of the men's collection my favorite is "Elvis," this style is so alluring it almost breaks your heart. The King's sides and back are cut short and the top is cut long and jagged for a very sexy look. It also comes as blonde oh how superb! I imagine sharing a moonlight stroll on a beach with Elvis and us drinking pina coladas until the wee hours and watching the sunrise. As he is king...who would I be, Ann Margaret or Nancy Sinatra? I am sure that I can find that hairstyle right here.

Moirafate" a wicked hairstyle created for the divine mistress of the darkness in all of us. This is macabre glam at its best. The long locks and its banged high front give it its exotic look. This hairstyle is perfect when matched with an ultra sexy form fitting long black gown. I can just imagine wearing this hairstyle and attending a Midnight Ball at a dark castle with a handsome evil prince waiting to kiss my bloodless hand.

Now in my opinion, the most dramatic fantasy hair that she has made so far is..."Nariko." For us PlayStation 3 players this hair is similar to the look of the main character of Heavenly Sword. The powerfully flowing red mane is dazzling. Its movements are wistfully beautiful. This heroine hair is made for the warrior in all of us. It celebrates the journey each woman makes fighting her own demons as she travels down the road of self-discovery. Just like most of all Leetah's creations this hair is colorable and modifiable. A definite must have,

Aside from the fantastic hair creations, I see several well-known fashion designers clothing ads poised next to hairstyles that are showcased in them. Leetah is well recognized and utilized by her talented peers. I see the store is low lag and prosperous as people keep teleporting to the shop for their lastest dreams. I see her friends immortalized by having hairstyles modeled after them. I see that there is a table discreetly displaying two trophies one for Hair Fair 2007 and the other for the Best Extreme Style Savoy Hair 2007 for her "Queen Amidala" hairstyle. I see the pride Leetah displays as she introduces herself to well wishers. I see the grace and poise she exhibits when accepting a compliment. I see that the color of success at the Curl Up & Dye Salon is Leetah Moxie and what a talented and beautiful shade it is.

There is nothing that completes a fabulous outfit like a great bag (purse). Purses are not very easy to find in SL so I decided to spend today looking just only for them and see what I would turn up with. I thought this would be easier than it was but I think I found some really perfect bags.

This fabulous bag, "Hobo Bag - Red" was the first that I found and it is just irresistable. Its from *Starz*. The gold buckle as the clasp is very smart. It is worn on the shoulder and it is perfect with either jeans or a dress.

At The LoLo I found this grand bag, "The LoLo Bag" it comes as a set with a bunch of different colors and fabric blends. What I just adore about this bag is that the trinkets on the purse ring really sparkle and move. I love when designers add these types of special touches, thanks Wade 1.

Most days I am so spoiled that I am just rotten. And if you are a brat like me then you just must head over to Pampered Princess to pick up this marvelous bag, "(BB) White Nautica Bag". Again as I just love details the adorable gold bunny on the bag is so cute!! The double pocket fronts are just spendid detailing. This bag in yellow is also a must have.

Creating a look in Second Life® for some is intuitive but for others this is a daunting and difficult task. With all the choices available one could get lost in all of the possibilities, I for one am always looking to for more realistic skin. I have compiled some tips to help:

1. Do not forget the EYES.
Remember they are the windows to the soul, so play them up. When picking your skin color
consider how it will match to your eye color. Heavily lined eyes can be very dramatically beautiful
but can also come off harsh and smaller eyes really pop with great lashes.

2. TOO-BRIGHT Eyeshadow
When picking skin makeup variations stay away from way too bright and wild eye shadowing. There
are very rare occasions were wild vivid colors does not look, garish, gaudy, and simply
unattractive. If you are looking for a dramatic look then take a chance but still use good judgment
and pick colors that are practical at the same time. Creamy soft colors are the optimal choices.

3. Eyebrow Errors
Every woman plight is to fight against bushy brows. Brows should frame your face. A slight arch
creates the space above the eye that makes the eyes POP. The coloring should match your haircolor
in a non-competing way.

4. Luscious Lips a DO
Creamy lips are so kissable. Only wear deep dark shades like brown if you are contouring and
contrasting. When wearing a dark color make sure that a lighter color is also used to
contour. Remember you can never go wrong with a clear simple gloss.

5. STYLE your hair; don't let YOUR HAIR style you
Don't be predictable. I believe in the idea of picking a signature color and then buying many styles
in that color. Everyone should have an updo, a romantic hairstyle, a professional coif, a pony-tail
and a playful look. Shy away from changing hair colors dramatically from day to day. You lose your
personal identity if you are in constant change.

On one of my explore and conquer shopping excursions, in concentrated search of a rezz-day present. I stumbled upon the most "fabulous" boutique. +plus as I walked through the beaded entrance little prinkles of excitement start tingling up my back because I vaguely begin to see some of the little treasure inside. SL interferes and lag bores down on me like a fine depression so I take a seat on a couch to wait it out. I was anxious to see what the designer had in store for me and had no intentions of leaving without this experience. Before I left my keyboard a saw a woman standing in the middle of the store with a tag identifying that she, Helena Compton was the designer how surrendipitous. I briefly greet her and say that I am just going to sit for awhile. She politely returned my greetings and continued to work. She exuded a certain realness that I find very attractive. She was pure glam, that type of fashion achievement that one cannot attain by just logging into SL and purchasing a couple of nice outfits, but the type that is cultivated by years of RL enjoyment in all that is couture.

Upon coming back from my short afkness I find Helena still there working. The lag had somewhat improved so I immediately notice that she is smoking the most realistic cigarette I have seen yet. The animations remind me of old hollywood glamour in the poise of her smoking. I think of bad girls such as Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, and Bettie Page. I am transfixed by the the graceful hand movement that bring the cigarette up to her mouth and the smoke that furls delicate tendrils in the air.

We chat and I find out that in RL fashion is very important to her and that she was motivated to become a designer so that she could bring that passion with her into SL. As we continue to conversate she gives me a personal tour of the store and I catch her making the phrase, "die with style." Wow, I can really understand that. To live and die with style, that is me. She tells me how she was motivated to design by creating things that she wanted for herself. In RL some of the things that she would like to own of couture are too expensive but she found that she could create those items here in SL and enjoy them just as well. I think to myself Helena is "fabulousity." She embodies the expression of glamour, style, charisma, power and heart. As I see the beautiful details and sleek chic designs I am proud of her and her accomplishments.

The first thing that caught my eye was the colour palette that Helena uses it is pure luxe. The rich and vibrant colors are coveted by fashionistas. I was attracted that day to the greens and olives. The little treasure that caught my attention the most was this marvelous shoulder bag the magazine and sunglass just shot me straight to my heart because this is so me in RL. Beauty Avatar - Its Skin Deep

I had the chance to visit at Miami Island and ran across this fabulous more than a regular store more like an emporium. I found the skins to be dramatically beautiful, the shapes are quite alluring and the fashions are casually chic. It was very pleasing to the eye to find the clothes hanging on hangers and the shoes out for display instead of being boxed up. Kudos to aida Ewing!

There were a couple of things there that really caught my eye one was the "Nefertiti Special Edition Bronze Skin". This luscious exotic skin has very pretty tones and skin highlights that are sure to match with any color and accentuate the beautiful bone structure of this beauty. As Neferititi ruled the nile. Be the Queen of your domain in SL.

Although the skin comes with several choices from tear-stained, to smokey eyes to veiled masks a shape is need to complete your dazzling new avatar look. The "Grace Shape" is fit for a queen. The proportions are tantilizing and the contours are made for touching.

As I sauntered over to the other half of the emporium I passed a display of gorgeous boots. The "Amanda Boot" comes in all the perfect colors for any true fashionista's closet. It is so hard to find boots that are this sleek and sexy. Most boots being made are more like chained sex industry utility boots than smooth boots you just slip on. And to find a pair in white 'priceless.'

I am always looking for that unique piece I have learned to stay away from the most frequented stores and buy things just off the beaten path. So this top for me perfectly fit the bill. "Philadelphia" I have never been there but this top in azure is just right for me and it also comes with gloves to match.

So now, (sighs) Linden Lab® rolls out a new Brand Center and enforces an exhaustive trademarking policy. This all includes a new logo that could be used on your website, business card, promotional material, product packaging, and in any other places where you may wish to promote your contributions to the Second Life® world.

Personally, I find this new logo to be very unattractive and distractive to the company's branding schema. If they even have a full branding schema. I think in graphic design terms the cube that is suppose to represent a cube is unrecognizable to the outside world it looks like just a folded piece of paper. (blah)

This whole mess with the Lindens is just excessively ridiculous. Some influential Second Life® bloggers had tried to over the past couple of days to demonstrate their displeasure by staging a three-day strike as a way to send a message to Linden Lab® about its newest big brother tactic.

I too lended my support in the strike. But what question this all boils down to is, what is Linden Lab® thinking? Has Second Life® become so self-important and its own head swollen in the vanity of its virtual achievements. Last year Second Life accepted the 2007 Good Design Award taking credit for the hard-work of its many talented and dedicated residents while all they seem to be able to create is a sub-standard product.

I mean really... Second Life is not Microsoft and if Microsoft does not require bloggers and reporters to follow a regimented trademark guideline the audacity of Linden Lab® to ask for this.

There is a "8 Random Things About Me" phenomenal that has been sweeping the whole world wide web. I am joining the foray here is my contribution.

"I listen to music all day everyday." My favorite is R&B and I have a special affinity to Love Songs. Right now I am feeling "If I Have My Way by Chrissette Michele."

I have owned 22 cars: (1) BMW, (1) Convertible, (3) Economy Cars, (2) Lexus, (4) Mercedes, (2) Sedans, (4) Sports Cars, (4) SUV's, and (1) Volkswagen Bug. Of course, at one time I had three cars at once. Now I drive two. My most favorite car of all time was my 1987 Merkur XR4ti. It was my first new car purchase!!!! I really liked torturing people by turning on the heated seats and watching for their reactions.
I graduated early from High School and double majored in both Chemistry and Psychology in college.

I lived in Guam for 2 years and regret moving back to the US.

I love everything Hello Kitty!! I got my first pack of pencils for my birthday back in 1980.

My favorite places to shop are Neiman Marcus and Target hahaha what a great combination. Here are two of my last purchases.
Every year I try to attend Comic-Con [http://www.comic-con.org/cci/] which is held every year in San Diego around my birthday.

I am planning a trip to Paris in 2008.

New Kids On The Block!!!

If you don't know already, Linden Lab has made the source code for the Second Life Viewer available to everyone. Talented developers from around the world are now able to collaborate with Linden Lab to refine and enhance the experience for all residents of the Second Life Grid.
I have tested and reviewed two really good Viewers.

The first is Windlight and it is the very well done I think. It displays water and sunlight to its optimum best. The second is OnRez which is sponsored by CSI:NY. It has a Mac look and a great gadget "Teleport History." The theme of this viewer is to solve murders that are staged in Second Life. It comes with a CSI special Toolbar and updates of the location of the murders. It is great fun.

You should try them out I have been using both alternatively for the past two months and find them to be a bit more stable then the standard viewer. Not to mention in Windlight with the appropriate face lighting my avatar is so stunning now....like a supermodel. heehee And whenever I am feeling super smart I use OnRez to hone my dectective skills I even got a badge.

Identity Crisis?

Welcome to my Blog......this is my very first entry. Yeay! I intend to share the happenings and goings on of my Second Life (http://www.secondlife.com/). I will also give you my musings of what I think is true. The pic you see is of me as a duck, I was feeling quacky that day and subsequently I laid an egg.

What I have realized is that as people join Second Life a phenomena that is common but overlooked happens. People go through a major "identity crisis". They ask themselves who am I? and then whom I am going to be in my Second Life? Identity is a subjective sense as well as an observable quality of personal sameness and continuity, paired with some belief in the sameness and continuity of some shared world image. Second Life is an environment in which is new and inviting to a person in the sense that they can do and be whatever they want. Hence, conflict with the normal and real self which later leads to crisis. Although, personally I think I have been very conservative in my second life and chose to infuse my own real personality into my virtual self there are many out there who are struggling to define who they are.

Erik Erikson, the psychologist that coined the term "identity crisis" suggested that if find yourself struggling with your identity you can work through the following questions to look for some resolution:

Can you distinguish immediate gratification from long-term goals?

Have you learnt to balance between jumping at opportunities as soon as they are presented to you and working steadily and patiently towards your long-term goal?

Do you feel consistent in your self-image and the image you present to others?

Have you tried different roles in search of the one that feels right to you?

Do you believe that you will be successful in what you choose to do -- whether your role is at the work or home?

Do you feel comfortable being a male or a female, and dealing with others as such?

Are you able to become both a leader and a follower, whichever is called for in a given situation?

Have you found a set of basic social, philosophical, or religious values that your outlook on life can be based upon?
