I have been thinking about changing my skin, it looks a bit flat in pictures now. I have seen quite a few photo-realistic skins that I think would be similar to my current look so I am excited about a change. But it is a hard decision to make, because I really adore my current skin. It is made by Pulse and comes with a set of makeups that are both neutral and dramatic. What makes this skin most unique to me is that is comes freckled. This skin is very similar to what I look like in my first life and I just love it. So I begin the quest to find a new skin that doesn't really change my look just upgrades me a bit. After wasting a couple of days looking at skins I gave up on the idea of changing my look.

Then later while working on my store at the SL Marketplace I ran into a makeup kit that comes in a tattoo layer. Since 2008 I have been fascinated with skin with makeups but have been limited in that the finding the right makeup with the right skin is not an easy task. Since I am darker skinned the lipsticks are usually so dark as well. Most skin designers do not realize that not all darker skinned girls like to wear plum lipstick we like red and pinks as well as the next girl. The kit is made by Ngel Vella and it is fantastic!!!

This makeup kit is a eye tattoo layer that lays over any pre-existing makeup you have to enhance your look. It comes with or without eyelashes which is really smart. No more waiting for your lashes to rez separately and no painstaking adjustments. Ngel also sells lipstick tattoos that are marvelous as well, the red lipstick I am wearing though is from my original skin and not apart of the makeup kit. I will add that the pricing for this kit is very very reasonable a definite must have for any fashionista. Thank you Ngel for giving new life to my old skin

The Color of Spring 2010: Gray

Black and white have traditionally been the primary base fashion colors for all seasons. As we enter into the "twenty-ten" decade designers are re-interrepting this norm with the color gray.

Neutrals are the trend this spring with monotone dressing in hot style. But some neutrals such as beige, khaki and camel are just not flattering to all skin tones. A gray is a definitely an easier color for most to pull off, it also seems to dress up any casual outfit and give you an instantly overall polished look when accessorizing.

I logged on to a bevy of "buzz" yesterday. "Vajazzled!!", "I just got Vajazzled, too!", "I'm vajazzled" were the comments I saw floating across my Plurk Timeline. I thought to myself what type of thing is "vajazzle" and how does one do it. Well, much to my delight I was directed to Adam n Eve Skins and Shapes.

sachi Vixen the creator there has really hit on something, beautiful gemed body decorations for the vajayjay area. What a great way to spice up your avie. Vajazzles come in several brilant designs available, and the promise that more will be offered as well. They come as undergarments layers and can be easily mixed and matched.

Print Dresses for Spring 2010

My "London Style"

I Got My LINDEN HOME!: Heaven on Earth, Virtually

When I first heard that the Lindens were offering an incentive for Premium members I was cautiously excited but very curious. I have been a premium member for over 3 years and had only kept my premium membership in the case that there is some problem with my account. As a premium member I get to speak to a live person on the phone rather then placing a trouble ticket. I live on Estate Land so the option of living on Linden Land is not as advantageous as having my estate land with Azure Islands.

So Angelo and I decided investigate into exactly what was a "Linden Home?" This is what we found; it is a new feature for premium account holders that gives account holders the chance to live in a themed Linden Public Works built community for little or no cost. There are convenant rules that you must abide and they are reasonably fair and are as follows:

•You will use 512 sqm of your available Land tier. (Your first 512 sqm of land are still FREE)
•Parcel sizes can't be changed.
•Terraforming is forbidden.
•Only one parcel per account.
•Buying or selling of land is prohibited.
•Zoned as non-commercial. No events or classified ads allowed.
•Houses are permanent.
•No commerce activity allowed.
•No sky boxes can be built.

Currently, there are four planned communities. You are free to choose the theme that best suits you.

MEADOWBROOK: Suburban theme with winding roads around hills in a natural surrounding. It has a very southern californian surburban feel to it.

TAHOE: Forest theme with winding roads around hills in rustic surroundings. I found this theme to be very summer campish. I could faintly smell the roasting marshmellows wafting in the air.

ELDERGLEN: Fantasy theme with winding roads around hills and giant trees. A beautiful place to bring out your inner muse. Everything there was just wholesomely sweet.

SHARETA OSUMAI: Traditional Japanese theme with homes nestled in picturesque areas with mossy rocks and colorful trees. The most beautifully rendered of all the communities very tranquil. A perfect place to get away reflect and mediate.

Upon the announcement of this feature in February 2010, Linden Labs was using a lottery system to assign homes to only a specific group of premium holders. I had doubts amd thought that I probably would not be selected even though I had fell in love with the Japanese themed community.

Well. last week into my email box I received a uneventful email from Linden Labs announcing that I should get my new home now! I thought well I should at least try even though I suspected the email was just a marketing ploy to further advertise the feature but nothing else. So, I followed all the prompts and made my selection and poof in one-click I was teleported to my NEW LINDEN HOME! I started right to the decorating...and here is my little piece of heaven on earth...virtually. Thank You Linden Labs!

Second Life's virtual landscape [The Grid] covers an area bigger than that of New York. New York has been the largest city in the US since 1790 and has a population exceeding 8 million all stuffed into a 332 square mile footprint. Comparably, Second Life has only been around since 2003 but has a population of 18 million (total membership) and covers more than 500 virtual square miles. That's big!

My Christmas so bright gotta wear Shades

My thoughts are filled with ideas perfect gift giving for my friends and family. My first stop was Essential Soul a great cornucopia of things. These shades literally caught my eye. The ES Sunglasses Metropolis Reflect Edition are very fashionable this year.

The framing flatters all face shapes and comfortable to wear. The sunset tinting on the glasses reflects good times in the upcoming year. So for a brighter future in 2010...you gotta wear these shades.

Flowey Dress! at SToRin

Annah Whitfield over at SToRin has a new release “Flowey Dress!” and it is adorable. Usually I think that color variations of a particular outfit are just overkill, but with this dress I completely fell in love with the fat-pack and each color combination. Each set called for a different occasion where they could be worn. I see the red/black as more for the evening and versatile cocktail dress...

the gray/purple is a ladies lunch set more dressy casual purposes ........

the blue/gold is strictly boardroom, the power dress for the lady who is in charge.

It is interesting to wear a mostly sculpt ensemble. The drape of the top fit me so well with just a minor adjustment due to my ample chest.
I like the details that the designer has made such as the skirt and the drape being completely modifiable. I am a big fan of the system skirt I like the tight slimness but this dress has me thinking that maybe a change is coming. I did make the skirt a little longer then the way it comes just on personal preference, but it can see being more flirty with the skirt as the parties abound leading up to New Year’s.

I was also pleasantly pleased to find a box included with the components to the dress on several different layers. The attention given this dress is so apparent. I am looking forward to what Annah comes up with in 2010.

Riverwalk: An Art Walk in a park.

Riverwak an open public area is a scenic cultural treasure that should not be missed. It is a combination clubhouse, art gallery and nature perserve. The entrance point , the Cliffhouse is the gamehouse with tables such as Backgammon, Mah Jong, Spades, SLoply, On-A-Roll and Settlers of SL and others. Down from the cliffhouse is a series of terraced decks that lead down to the docks where swan boats can be rented, which take on you a 20-minute narrated excursioin down the river. This is but the tip of the iceberg of what there is to see and do at Riverwalk.

The highlight for me is the "Art." Local artists are allowed to display between the trees in clearings and along the cobblestone walk their wares for free, with many available for purchase. If you are looking to spend some downtime in a lagg free but beautifully rendered sim. Go to Riverwalk, wander the footpaths and discover fantastic artistic works.

Creating A Look

Creating a look in Second Life® for some is intuitive but for others this is a daunting and difficult task. With all the choices available one could get lost in all of the possibilities, I for one am always looking for more realistic skin. I thought I would compile some tips to help other achieve their "personal look nirvana":

1. Do not forget the EYES.
Remember they are the windows to the soul, so play them up. When picking your skin color
consider how it will match to your eye color. Heavily lined eyes can be very dramatically beautiful
but can also come off harsh and smaller eyes really pop with great lashes.

2. TOO-BRIGHT Eyeshadow
When picking skin makeup variations stay away from way too bright and wild eye shadowing. There
are only very rare occasions were wild vivid colors does not look, garish, gaudy, and simply
unattractive. If you are looking for a dramatic look then take a chance but still use good judgment
and pick colors that are practical at the same time. Creamy soft colors are the optimal choices.

3. Eyebrow Errors
Every woman plight is to fight against bushy brows. Brows should frame your face. A slight arch
creates the space above the eye that makes the eyes POP. The coloring should match your haircolor
in a non-competing way.

4. Luscious Lips a DO
Creamy lips are so kissable. Only wear deep dark shades like brown if you are contouring and
contrasting. When wearing a dark color make sure that a lighter color is also used to
contour. Make note that you can never go wrong with a clear simple gloss.

5. STYLE your hair; don't let YOUR HAIR style you
Don't be predictable. I believe in the idea of picking a signature color and then buying many styles
in that color. Everyone should have an updo, a romantic hairstyle, a professional coif, a pony-tail
and a playful look. Shy away from changing hair colors dramatically from day to day. You lose your
personal identity if you are in constant change.
